IEP Assistance

  1. Identify and prioritize current educational deficits

  2. Provide details and better ideas as to how your child may be educated to remediate or accommodate those deficits
  3. List necessary and worthwhile adaptations and modifications that will allow your child to achieve in the classroom
  4. Outline an evaluation plan that will detail how and how often your child's progress will be evaluated
  5. Make suggestions as to the appropriate placement (least restrictive environment) for your child's educational needs
  6. Summarize the progress that you should see in your child during the next school year

Hear Me's primary goal is to assist you with your child's educational services and your concerns.  Through the years, we have learned from experience to reinforce a families understanding of the numerous and complicated factors that are outside of the control of the Hear Me Foundation; it's employees, representatives, volunteers and staff.  Therefore, it is important to understand that although this summary of services and rates is provided for you as a "guide" it is NOT all encompassing and merely provide you with general information.  Please know that the Hear Me Foundation cannot guarantee a favorable outcome in any matter we handle on your behalf.  We promise, however, to provide your reasonable and compentent services and support to protect you and your child as parents and advocacts who have children with disabilities.

ARD Assistance

  • Attend ARD meetings with you and sit in and support your goals for being there and provide input and assistance as needed
  • Advisement on Special Education Law/Legal Rights
  • Work one-on-one helping parents learn about their rights and about how to advocate effectively for their child
  • Focus on helping parents become equal partners in the educational process, with an eye to building a productive partnership with the school
  • Garthering records and good record keeping
  • How to interpret your child's educational records
  • Request for Records and other relevant Parental Rights

Mediation/ Due Process Assistance

Assist with Mediation or Due Process Cases in order to prepare and move forward in obtaining a free and appropriate education

Mediation/Due Process Attendance

Attend Mediation or Due Process Cases with you and sit in and support your goals for continuing with the process

Hear Me Foundation Fees for Advocacy Services

Rates (Registered Family Participants)

*First Initial Consultation Meeting is free of charge

IEP/ARD Assistance…………………..$75 per hour plus additional rate for type of consultation requested

ARD Attendance…………………$75 per hour

Mediation Assistance…………………..$75 per hour plus add’l rate for type of consultation requested

Mediation Attendance…………… $75 per hour ($90 for Non-Hear Me Family Participants)

Due Process Assistance………………$100 per hour plus add’l rate for type of consultation requested

Due Process Attendance…………$110 per hour ($125 for Non-Hear Me Family Participants)

Above Rates apply to Hear Me Family Participants

Non-Family Participants will be charged a rate of $90 per hour (and only apply if already a registered Family Participant)

Fee Determination and Rate Structure

Please note that in determining the above fee rates, there may be factors that need to be taken into account when determining a fee structure such as:  the amount of time in research, developing exhibits, providing and preparing written response to questions and concerns, resources, referrals (professional services, i.e., speech, neurological, psychological, etc...), locality of services, seriousness of disputes among the parties, time limitations, nature and length of professional relationship, experience, reputation and ability of the counsel for the district and district personnel.

Terminating the Relationship

You may terminate our services only by giving written notice and paying any balance then due.  We too, reserve the right to terminate our services at any time, with or without cause:

  1. Ethical reasons or impractical
  2. Retainer is not current
  3. Accounts are not paid; or
  4. You fail to respond to any reasonable request relating to a matter, such that representation and services are compromised.

Note:  If termination of services becomes necessary, and sums remain outstanding please know that any such action necessary to seek the reimbursemet for unpaid sums will become your sole responsibility; whereby, you could additionally, become responsible for additional sums in pursuing legal action, filing fees, legal interest and additional hourly rates related to the pursuit of sums do and owing.
